You can navigate in a default Windows 98 SE Operating System or XP (no need for SSL, no https) to DST Bench using http://www.dstbench.com It' completely safe, as we do not use cookies, but google's and modern politics force almost all websites to have an httpS, when for a web that does not use cookies, its not needed while you don't submit any data such as email or password !, in which case, the HTTP is equal secure as the HTTPS. For O.S. that does support for HTTPS, we make the web with HTTPS for the users to be able to login. So , Win 98 and XP users can look at the web, without send personal info, and modern browsers using modern Operating Systems, can enjoy HTTPS and SignUp / SignIn.
We have 2 different servers in our LAN, both pointing to same public domain, one for HTTP and one for HTTPS, this way, we keep private the data to our incoming HTTPS server, that is a different machine than the HTTP server.
